El Sereno
El Sereno is one of the most dynamic pockets on LA’s eastside with charming homes cascading hillsides hidden by foliage and treetop canopies. Ringed by snow-capped mountains with numerous open spaces and parks, including Ascot Hills, it’s a quiet little gem of a neighborhood minutes from downtown and Pasadena with a deep sense of comunidad. The eclectic mix of small businesses and family restaurants make it a compelling place to explore a largely overlooked and unknown part of Los Angeles. In Spanish, the name means “serene” which in our book makes El Sereno so right!
