We move so quickly in LA that it's hard to really take in the city as we whiz around in our cars, jockeying for position while texting, driving & talking simultaneously. It's no wonder that happiness can be elusive, because we're too busy, too distracted by our relentless pursuit of happiness. Example: I have raced up & down Silver Ridge Ave. a thousand times & never knew that tucked away behind a row of hedges lies a warm, elegant, expansive, pure unadulterated Mid-Century home that was crafted by a man, for himself, in 1951. He positioned it perfectly, so that every angle, every soaring beam, every window with it's expansive views of mountains or lush greenery & it's private outdoor space was designed to quiet you, to allow you to take in the beauty & light that makes Los Angeles the City of Angels. The first time I entered the home it was so beautiful, so unique that I just had to stop & catch my breath & once I stopped there was no need to pursue happiness anymore, it had found me.
